Who are we

We are sisters Dora and Astrid

Our roots lie in the Danish women’s movement, Rødstrømperne. We founded DOAS to empower women around the world through clothing. Our designs combine a simple look with a strong expression and embrace the female body in all its forms. Beyond fashion, we speak up for equality and better conditions for everyone, regardless of gender, size, skin colour or identity.

Be yourself in endless ways

At DOAS, we believe that personal style starts with the freedom to be yourself. After all, there is no single way to look feminine, feel confident or express who you are. Each woman brings her own experiences, preferences and point of view to the clothes she wears.

That belief shapes how we think about fashion. For this reason, we favour a simple yet strong expression that leaves room for the person behind the outfit. Clothes can become part of your story without telling you who to be. Instead, you decide what they mean and how to wear them.

Our roots in the Danish women’s movement remind us that this freedom matters beyond our wardrobes. Therefore, conversations about equality belong alongside conversations about style. We also want to help challenge narrow expectations about women, their bodies and their place in the world.

DOAS brings these ideas together: clothing, individuality and a belief in equal respect. In other words, we celebrate different ways of being a woman, rather than one ideal to follow. Whether your style feels quiet, bold or somewhere in between, our message stays the same. You should have space to express yourself on your own terms.

Personal style can also change from one day to the next. For example, some days you may reach for something simple. On others, you may want a stronger look. Either way, we believe you should feel free to explore both. You do not need to fit a certain image or follow a set of rules.
